Founded in 2007 by Grant Trebble, LEAD Associates is a South African-based implementation partner focused on turning environmental challenges into sustainable, inclusive economic opportunities. With experience in large-scale public programmes—such as the Eco-Furniture Programme (EFP), which created over 2,500 jobs and established seven factories under the EPWP framework—LEAD has helped build the foundation for innovative biomass-based industries. Our current work focuses on scaling invasive plant biomass solutions for ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, housing, and local enterprise development, while fostering private-public linkages and delivering data-driven implementation through tools like the MOAT Reporting System.
